“The most amazing photographs are a hundred metres from my front door”
Living close to the water is pretty normal for a Kiwi. There’s something special about being able to visit the ocean, it provides a serenity, even on a stormy day, that you don’t often find inland.
Poole Harbour is on my doorstep so when I feel the need to be creative I can throw my camera bag on my shoulder and five minutes later I’m shooting a few frames. The sunsets can be spectacular and these combined with the activities of the port provide ample photographic material.
These photos were taken on the third night of three that I had been out to photograph the sunset. Mother Nature was a little lacklustre on the first two nights but she made up for it on this evening.
